For start/stop to start abruptly, it normally means that the battery is not charged enough to activate it. To switch the intelligent stop/start system off, press the eco stop/start button. And if you're holding the button down until the engine starts then of course this time will vary dependent on how warm or cold the engine is.

For start/stop to start abruptly, it normally means that the battery is not charged enough to activate it. To confirm that the system has been switched off, the button led will extinguish, and the message eco stop/start off is momentarily displayed in the message centre.

But most diesels will let you turn the engine over before the glow plug warm up is complete, whereas the xf system won't, hence why jaguar refer to it as intelligent start. My new ride's start/stop did not start working till days after collection.

My jaguar xf (09) 2.7d will not start. This will be a problem on most if not all older cars.

And now its cuasing same problems again. Ive owned it for two years and had loads of intermittent electrical problems.

Ok, Perhaps The Battery Was Low, So Being Retired I Took The Car For A Good Hours Drive Down The A11 And Back.

You Might Find The Battery Is Getting Weak.

I went out to the car to start it and it started. My car is a 208 xf. It is likely you have auxillary devices installed that is draining too much power after the bms has learnt the max electrical load.
